RICHARD AND BETH SCHERMERHORN, OWNERS
Richard Schermerhorn Jr. was born in Glens Falls and is well known in construction and real estate. His company, Schermerhorn Real Estate Holdings, specializes in quality apartments and unassisted senior living properties. Rich is a strong investor in the region, including the Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport in Queensbury. His latest project, The Aviator Restaurant, is a newly constructed building positioned alongside the airport runway. Rich recognized the need to cater not only to the dining needs of corporate jet passengers and crews, but also to the local community. He is committed to making the Aviator Restaurant a haven for fine dining in a unique and comfortable setting.
Since the inception of Schermerhorn Construction, Beth has worked in a wide array of capacities, always with the intent of making their company a great success. Her current specialty is lead decorator and she gave the Aviator Restaurant its warm, welcoming ambiance. Rich and Beth have been married for 26 years. They have 2 daughters Megan and Laura, and two sweet little poodles - Lucky is 15 and Sophie is 12.
DENVER GROVER, EXECUTIVE CHEF
Chef Denver Grover is a 1998 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Chef Denver grew up on her grandparent’s livestock farm in the rural hills of the Finger Lake region. She has worked at the Sagamore Resort, Sargo’s at Saratoga National Golf Course and Saratoga Polo Catering and Events. Most recently, she led the culinary team at Jimbo's Club at The Point. Chef Denver is committed to working with seasonal and local ingredients and makes everything from scratch. She melds traditional Adirondack flavors with native foods from around the world to create an exciting culinary experience. She lives in Fort Ann with her boyfriend and Pets.
